The developer has been named to run the now-closed Yorktowne Hotel, when it opens after renovations in late 2018 or early 2019.
Hospitality ownership and management company GF Philadelphia’s management of the York County Industrial Development Authority, which owns the hotel, at Tuesday’s meeting.
GF Management was selected to operate the historic Yorkshire hotel and landmark from more than a dozen audits of interests.

“They offer the best combination of experience in managing hotels and also knowledge of York,” said IDA president Jack Kay. “We think they are a great addition to our team.”
GF Management, founded in 1988, operates over 500 hotels in 45 states. It now operates 86 hotels, including Taranto.
Yorktown, at 48 E. Market St., closed in November for what its owners said would be a two-story, $20 million renovation. IDA bought the nearly century-old hotel for 1.8 million in late 2015.
“The goal is to make this a treasure hotel that it once was and that it once was … and make it a destination that people in the city want to come to,” said Andrew Tod, GF executive chairman.

The firm’s founder and CEO, Ken Kochenour, is a York native who attended York College, and Kochenour has followed the story of York over the years, Tod said.
The new hotel is likely to have 100 to 120 hotel rooms and 26 apartments, renovation officials said.
York County-based Kinsley Construction Inc., which this source selected as the hotel’s renovation construction manager, is expected to name as many as 30 subcontractors for the project.
Final plans for what York’s revamped look like have not been announced;
