The Hammocks continued to find the basket on second chances and took the lead 10 three minutes into the third period. UNC went on a 6-0 run, but South Carolina continued to dominate on the glass, securing nearly every possession offensively.

Things started to go from bad to worse for North Carolina when Kelly scored offensively and defensively in a minute. South Carolina took a 56-45 lead into the fourth quarter.
Kelly scored seven of UNC’s 11 points in the first half of the fourth quarter. The Tar Heels forced several defensive stops, which led to back-to-back bases loaded by sophomore guard Kennedy Todd-Williams and Littlefield’s running back. South Carolina still led 65-59 with 3:18 to play.
