HOUSTON — Houston, Texas-based Crescent Energy Company has entered into a definitive purchase agreement with Verdun Oil Company to acquire more than 400 oil producing wells in the Uinta Basin for $815 million.

Crescent describes itself as “a well-capitalized, independent US energy company with a portfolio of assets in key proven watersheds in the lower 48 states.”

The all-cash transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2022. The acquisition will give the company more than 145,000 contiguous net acres, located primarily in Duchesne and Uintah counties. The area currently contains over 400 vertical and horizontal oil production wells. Over 1,800 wells have been drilled into the ground in the past.
