A deck that will not pass building inspection…..only sleeps in the house Offers the opportunity for up to 12 guests to stay together…..The deck is in terrific shape. It is most likely that this will happen in the not too distant future…. Our long holiday weekend with family at Sunset Retreat was fantastic!! We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing, playing and relaxing on the remote controlled speed boat at the dock. Every evening we had dinner on the big deck with 3 tables. There were 6 bedrooms 3 on level 3 with king bed and 3 with twin. And a full bath on each level. Perfect for a large family! Nice location on the lake. It is a bit unfortunate that people use this creek for high wake activity. There was a small house for twelve people with seating for only four people. Some loose boards on the deck and dock. Some fishing rod holders on the dock would be a nice addition. Clothes dryer is not working properly. We had to run several cycles to get the desired result. When we arrived there was a key in the glass of the table. Never knew what it was for. Some of the notices posted appear to be general rather than specific to this House. As for the service: We didn’t appreciate being slapped with an additional $1412.00 fee the week of our departure, nor the way it was handled. Our contract clearly stated that rental fees had to be paid for the full 90 days prior to our trip. How then can you imagine we owe more than a week ago? Despite the pandemic, I have a problem dealing with you on the need for security fee linen service without notifying you. Then you charge me more than the advertised rate and when asked the question ‘oh, our rate went up, thanks for letting us know’. If you walk into a store and put an item in your basket that is clearly marked $175, are you going to pay $200 when you come to the register and accept that ‘Oh, Our price has gone up’. I don’t think it was right to charge anything to my credit card without notifying me first. Those service concerns will make it very difficult for us to use your services again. This house is absolutely amazing! Three branches of our family met for vacation and each had its own floor and bathroom. There was so much to do in the house for which we barely had time as we were mostly below water/dock! The kids really enjoyed the pool table. We used the hot tub a little. One day a bunch of us took out a kayak. We used to set fire to the fire pit every night. We enjoyed ample seating on the deck for all our family meals. We rented a boat and spent each day jumping off the dock, tubing, fishing from the dock, and enjoying the beautiful view. We also saw a lot of wildlife. This is our favorite family vacation spot, and our second home we rented in SML. Our only problem is that every year more family members will come and it will become harder for all of us to find a home! Our family spent a week in this house in mid-September and overall loved the house and the lake. We have been to SML several times and would definitely consider coming back to this house. Pros – space for water. The house has a gentle slope compared to others in the area and is a short walk to the water. It was even possible for a disabled person in our family. Two living areas were great for a blended family. The pet friendly was fantastic. The large dock with electricity and fans made it even better to spend all day in the water. House came with lots of games for kids of all ages (we had both kids and pre-teens) Con`s – while the lower level has a full kitchen, it was completely empty so it kind of a pain was. The kitchen items upstairs weren’t in the best shape either, and no basics came with the house. It would be really nice if offered some basic spices, oils, hand towels etc. Also there is no wifi. We found this house to have enough space for everyone to feel comfortable and do their job. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs a large home close to water where their pets can visit. Overall house, set up, amenities are excellent. Nice that the owners provide soap and dishwasher detergent in each bath! Two things that are needed and usually forgotten. some small things. 1. WIFI – really should be provided 2. 3rd floor master suite curtains are decorative but do nothing to keep the sunrise out 3. Dryer sucks in basement 1 item that needs to be taken care of ASAP. Dock facing, the house behind you, down the stairs to the dock is a tree stump that clings a bit to the lake with a small bee nest. We really enjoyed our time over Memorial Day weekend. The property is in a great location on the lake, close to the state park, a nice gently sloping lot. The home has plenty of charm, comfortable rooms (we really enjoyed the memory foam bed in the master), well-equipped kitchenettes, and a large deck for entertaining. The place was very clean and completely packed. The dock was great with a good view of the cove and deep water for swimming. There was also enough parking and space for our boat trailer.
