Rick Ott Property Management – ABC 27 WTXL-TV has partnered with the Wakulla County Historical Society to present Lari White and Friends Wakulla Homecoming: A Legacy Event featuring Lari White, Chuck Cannon, Bryan Edwards, Rick Ott, Lindsay Sparkman, and Jerry Evans on Saturday, at April 25, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the auditorium of Wakulla High School, 3237 Coastal Highway, Crawfordville, Florida. The concert is A From the Heart Studio Concert Production.
According to Murray McLaughlin, Vice President/Heritage Village Parks, ABC 27 is the exclusive broadcast partner for the concert. Local Marketing Manager Derek Wright revealed the commercial schedule for WTXL and The Bounce will begin on April 6.

Larry White and Chuck Cannon came from Nashville to perform donating their time and talent to the event where all proceeds will benefit the Heritage Village Park. Larry has “deep roots in Wakulla County” as his father, Larry White, was born and raised here and graduated from Sopchoppy High School. His grandparents Cortez and Rosebud White lived in Medart. Rosebud was one of the siblings who lived for a while at the McLaughlin House. Lari’s mother, Yvonne, grew up in the small North Florida town of Vernon. Chuck Cannon has family roots in Jefferson County. “Chuck and Lari as headliners are a huge contributor to a successful event,” said Rick Ott, Concert Producer.
Another Nashville star coming home to sing is Bryan Edwards who attended Crawfordville Elementary School in the mid-1980s when his parents, Reverend Clark and Donna Edwards were pastors of the United Methodist Church. Clark Edward grew up in Lamont, Jefferson County, Florida. He loved fishing, hunting and playing in the “suburb” of Aucilla. Donna lived in Tallahassee and graduated from Leon High School.
Among Lari’s local friends are the heart and soul of the Sopchoppy trio that often plays together – Rick Ott, Lindsay Sparkman and Jerry Evans. Speaking about his willingness to participate Jerry Evans mentioned the recent historical discovery in his family in South Florida saying, “We support the effort of the Historical Society to preserve the hidden treasures found in our heritage.”
Heritage Village Park will be a living history museum and activity center in northern Wakulla County. Comparable settings to reflect the Park’s goals include the five-acre Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown, Florida and Historic Westville in Lumpkin, Georgia. There are seven homes and two schools in the Historical Society’s collection of “cracker houses” from the late 1800s and early 1900s to be preserved and restored. Progress has been impressive since 2012 when forty acres on Zion Hill Road were donated to the Historical Society for the park. On February 4, 2013 the Smith Creek schoolhouse was moved to this location. The home of Lari White’s ancestors in 1892, the John Archie and Annie Carraway McLaughlin House was moved from Medart to Zion Hill Road on September 10, 2014. Both buildings are temporary and with estimated grant funding beginning in July, the buildings will be placed on engineered foundations. by stabilizing the repair. Funds raised from the benefit concert will be used to complete the Phase I survey, develop roads, install needed infrastructure, and storm water management plans. These items are required before the public can begin accessing the site.
