Maui real estate investors and visitors alike often search for the best condos for sale in Kihei. This dynamic community on Maui’s South Shore attracts a wide variety of people. South Maui is a coastal playground with many great beaches and water activities in Kihei, Wailea and Makena.
In the area you can find all the delicacies of the holiday community, but also a little local charm. If you are buying a short-term rental property in this area, it is important that the complex is designated for short-term rentals. Not all Maui condo complexes allow short-term rentals. Also, property taxes are higher and there are other related costs to consider, such as property management. You will also need a local lender for financing. Several well-established condominium communities in Kihei belong to the short-term rental category. There are many other great complexes that we won’t mention in this article, but these complexes are a great place to start your search. These developments include Mana Kai, Kamaole Sands, Maui Vista, Sugar Beach Resort, Menehune Shores, Maui Kamaole and Maui Banyan.
North Kihei Vs. South Kihei
Kihei attracts vacationers from all over the world. This dynamic community in South Maui is a 45-minute drive from Kahului Airport. Still, it’s close to the famous Wailea Resort and pristine Makena Beach Park. From this location, visitors can easily access West Maui sites (including the historic community of Lahaina)
Of course, Kihei also offers many attractions of its own. Many great beaches attract people to this area. These locations include North Keawakapu Beach, Kamaole Beach Parks I, II and III, Kalepolepo Beach Park and Sugar Beach. This part of Maui is sunny most of the year, allowing residents to enjoy a variety of fun outdoor recreation activities.
Kihei also boasts a vibrant nightlife with many restaurants and bars. Coastal wetlands, whale-watching cruises, and the Maui Ocean Center draw environmentalists and tourists alike to the area.
