Proline offers many services that help our strata run efficiently. This includes communication, budgeting, emergency contacts, minutes and workshops. Communication is essential to maintaining a harmonious layer, and Proline does.
Perhaps the most important aspect of Proline management is the experience they provide through their managers. In our case, our property manager gave us excellent guidance on all matters relating to bylaws and the Strata Property Act to avoid mistakes that could have occurred if we had done it ourselves. There are many words I can use to describe how I feel about my relationship with Elaine and Proline Management. Trust, feedback, communication, availability, flexibility, kindness and problem solving just to name a few.
During my tenure as Feni President, I have enjoyed effective business relationships as we strive to effectively address Feni issues directly. I have often told Eric that he would never take Elaine away from us and he just smiles as if to say “You win”.

Andrea Williams has been a steady voice at our board meetings this year when most of our councilors were new to the job. Andrea was also new to us, but from the beginning she gave a steady voice with practical logical remarks. He is knowledgeable and pleasant in difficult situations. I was really aware of his leadership and guidance. He is highly valued for his hard work.

Recently recognized as the recipient of the Family Business Association of Victoria’s Vancouver Island Family Business Excellence Award, Proline Management has been in business since 1985. The company, which was founded in 1989, is focused on residential property management and has 53 employees in offices in St. Victoria, Langford and Nanaimo.
Sparling said he is honored to receive the FBA Vancouver Island award. “We’ve been involved in FBA since I moved back to Victoria in 2007,” he said. “Family businesses face a number of unique challenges and to be recognized by such a distinguished business group is an honor for which we are very grateful.” Sparling said the award also recognizes the efforts of his mother, Marilyn. “He’s been instrumental in getting the business to where it is today.”

Finalists for the award were Bliss and Be Love in Victoria and Two Eagles Lodge B&B in Comox. Andrew Wilson of the Wilson Group of Companies is the recipient of the 2019 Family Business Young Entrepreneur Award.
Bliss Cafe, founded by Heather Cunliffe, opened its doors in Victoria in 2008 and good things have been flowing ever since. Heather’s brother, Joe Cunliffe, joined as a business partner in 2010, and their father, Airi, created the space during their expansion. They opened Be Love in 2013, a second Café Bliss location at Whole Foods in 2016, and a third location in downtown Vancouver in the summer of 2018.
Andrew Wilson, 30, is a fleet manager at the Wilson Group of Companies, where he oversees 30 employees and the buying and selling of the entire fleet for the Wilson Group. He took up the position at the age of 24, making him the youngest manager in the company, as well as one of the youngest in his field. Under his leadership, the fleet has grown to nearly 200 vehicles, one of the largest and most diverse fleets in British Columbia.
The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony in Victoria, BC on February 13. The awards are presented annually by the FBA to recognize youth leadership and celebrate and promote the achievements and significant contributions of Vancouver Island family businesses.
