The current CEO of Home Partners, Bill Young, began to strategize the solution to this problem by providing access to capital that allowed people to move into communities and homes that they had not previously had access to.
Instead of renting a house through a conventional lease, a new innovative idea was proposed. By writing applicants under the same land as if they were buying a house, residents could choose the house for sale that they wanted to live in and rent it.
In 2012, the Buy-to-Lease Program was launched in 22 markets. This was made possible by the support of lenders and investors who believed in the importance of affordable home ownership.
Through the advice of real estate experts, the company secured a major equity investment in 2016 to further develop the Hire Purchase Program.

As of 2017, Home Partners was operating in 40 metros and had helped more than 10,000 households move into the home they love through the Rent Purchase Program.
