One of the most important questions we receive from the condo and co-op boards we serve and whom we are guiding through the process of making mechanical and other building improvements to comply with local laws related to energy efficiency and reduction of carbon is “how we pay for them”. .” The good news is that, as shared by our friends at NYC Accelerator, there are new funding options available from Capital Providers to help. Buildings account for 68% of carbon emissions in New York. Under Local Law 97, buildings larger than 25,000 square feet could face fines in 2025 based on 2024 emissions limits. Wondering how LL97 affects your building? Find your building’s path to compliance and contact the NYC Accelerator to help you avoid fines: https://lnkd.in/eetueyKK

Working At Sudler Property Management: Employee Reviews And Culture
Thanks for sharing this Dumisani Washington. This is an important story to tell about this Jewish philanthropist who helped thousands of African Americans both in his lifetime and to this day.
More than half of (Julius) Rosenwald’s philanthropic efforts benefited African Americans and these efforts began with his support of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) facility. YMCAs could be found in white communities across America, but YMCAs in African-American communities often lacked the resources of their white counterparts. The YMCA approached Rosenwald in 1910 with a proposal to build a new location in Chicago. He agreed, but only if a facility was also built for African Americans. “I will not give one cent to that $350,000 fund,” Rosenwald told the group, “unless you include building a YMCA for colored men.” The YMCA agreed and opened the Wabash Avenue YMCA in 1913… The beginning of what would come to be known as the Rosenwald Scholarships happened when Ernest Just, a biology professor at Harvard University who, largely in due to racial discrimination, he could not secure sufficient funding for his pioneering studies in cell biology. Beginning in 1920 and for the next 10 years, Rosenwald funded Professor Just’s research with grants of $2,000 per year. This was essentially the first of many Rosenwald Fellowships awarded primarily to African-American artists, writers, musicians, and academics who otherwise could not afford to continue their research, literary, and artistic endeavors. Between 1928 and 1948, the Rosenwald Fund distributed millions of dollars in scholarship awards. Famous recipients include author W.E.B. Dubois, poet Langston Hughes, historian John Hope Franklin and opera singer Marian Anderson.
