Lakepoint Property Management – BURLINGTON Lake Point Property Management of Burlington is growing, both in terms of staff and space under management.
Launched in September 2015 by principal Jeff Kenyon, rapid growth has seen the company add two new staff members and, most recently, a drone.

It started with just me in a small office, Kenyon said. We had about 70,000 square feet under management. We quickly grew it to over half a million square feet under management. I said, “Here we go,” and confronted Josh and Yana

Kenyon hired Josh Terry Berry as assistant property manager and Yana Walder Cook as operations and marketing coordinator.
They complement my weaknesses, and add a lot, Kenyon said. Josh works on product maintenance, and Yana works on the organization side, with communications and marketing.
Terreberry is a master gardener, which serves him well in landscaping properties. Cook, who lives in Montpelier, also serves as the primary liaison for the Montpelier and Stowe properties.
Yana has been great at outside-the-box marketing that has resulted in finding tenants for properties that have historically been difficult to fill, Kenyon said.
Org Property Management
While the company will work throughout the state when it makes sense for a client, its focus is primarily in Chittenden, Lamoille, Addison and Washington counties.
Lake Point works with investors and manages primarily commercial office buildings, although Kenyon noted Lake Point works with a wide range of tenants, including educational and medical institutions. The company has more than $36 million in assets under management, and focuses on working with local contractors and Vermont small businesses.
Lake Points’ broad menu of services includes a full range of financial services, accounting, reporting, budgeting, rent collection and collection, leasing and lease administration, contract management, consulting, capital planning, and project management. The company also offers full maintenance and monitoring, as well as 24/7 emergency response services.
All services are available a la carte, based on individual needs, he said. They are what I call investors and owners, and they have different needs. We can take as much or as little as you need.

Clients engage Lake Point at various points in the process, from acquiring a building to rebuilding, or renovating a property.
“We look at all the costs of a property and help manage operations,” Kenyon said. We look at maintenance Sometimes a property needs a little something to dress up the aesthetic to ensure that the inside looks good. Sometimes a little reconstruction is needed to update the image of the building.
Originally from Connecticut, Kenyon attended Johnson State College, and has over 15 years of experience in the Vermont business community, including real estate work with Redstone. He said he left Redstone and Vermont and returned to Connecticut when he and his wife had their first child.
But we missed Burlington and Vermont so much that we decided to come back, and I started my own operation.

As for the drone, Kenyon reports, we recently bought a nice drone with an amazing camera. A marketing aspect to this is taking bird’s-eye shots of properties for clients and promotions but we also do a fair amount of building surveys which may require the use of ladders or bucket trucks to reach upper floors. Not always the safest situation, or sometimes the most expensive, so drones can do a lot of it.
While not yet airborne, Lake Point is working through the permitting process and hopes to have the drone flying next month.
