Remember.. if someone asks you to send money as a deposit/first months rent, it might be a scam. DUE DILIGENCE. That’s one thing I like about official property management companies.. they rent properties that don’t sell (it’s happened), they don’t cheat. .

Our rental requirements are as follows: In order to complete our rental application, you must provide 3-5 years of housing history and your rental contact information. You will be asked to provide information about your monthly income, and we require that the applicant’s gross income be at least three (3) times the monthly rent amount.
1. Additional Income – Submit a pay stub or income statement. If you are self-employed or retired, we require copies of two years’ worth of tax returns, bank statements or other documents to verify your current financial situation. We will also check the recommendation letter.
2. Great Tenant References – Be prepared to provide 3-5 years of housing history, as well as your tenant’s contact information.
4. Photo ID – A photocopy of ID must be affixed to the completed application for each individual over the age of 18 prior to processing the application.

The application fee is non-refundable. Your application is valid for 60 days from the date of application and may be used for multiple properties managed by Knutson & Associates if all application requirements are met.

Sometimes you can’t get long-term rentals in West Hawaii. What you can do is contact a vacation rental company and discuss getting a place to stay for a few months while you look for a home. Sometimes you can get discounts for more than 30 days, and the application process isn’t that hard.
