The Swartzentruber family founded Green Acres in 1988 as a side business in addition to the crop. The business took place from April to July, three days a week, along Rt. 145 in Whitehall.

They started selling wooden garden furniture. As they became known throughout the Lehigh Valley and as business increased, they decided to stop growing so they could better meet the growing demand for their products.
In 1991, there was a lot available for McDonalds that was perfect for the company’s growing needs. A family partnership was formed that same year and over the next few years the business continued to grow, adding sheds, pavilions and play sets to its available products.
In 1999, they opened a second location in Easton, Pennsylvania, leasing space from a nursery company. As more time and family staff became available, they gradually began to increase the length of the season and the hours of the day.
From 1999 to 2001 was a period of extraordinary growth for the company. Several additional product lines were added and delivery/setup services were expanded.
For Property Owners
In 2004, the family decided to start a home heating oil division to compensate for stagnant winter sales of outdoor products. They began to provide fuel oil at fair prices for the entire Lehigh Valley.
In December 2006, they bought an additional property along Rt. 33 in Easton, PA to meet the growing demand for their products and allow for significantly larger indoor and outdoor showroom space. Since then, they have continued to expand their indoor showroom and outdoor patio.
In 2007, an opportunity arose to open a location in Marietta, Georgia. Two employees from the Whitehall and Hamburg locations were transferred there to set up our third location. Green Acres of Marietta has now grown considerably and is firmly established.
In the spring of 2012, Green Acres expanded its services to include HVAC services, including installation, repairs and maintenance plans.

Today, Green Acres Outdoor Living has expanded its products to include: aluminum, wicker, polymer and wood patio furniture, storage sheds, garages, pavilions, sunrooms, pool houses, pergolas, play sets, lawn decorations, footbridges, grills, manufactured amish interior furniture and much more.
