Tom is the Founder and Principal of The Development Group, a national leader in the investment, development and management of high-quality mixed-use properties. As CEO, Tom oversaw all aspects of KDG, including organizational structure, strategic planning and company growth. Tom believes that the company’s commitment to its excellent fundamentals, core values, evolving business strategies and astute entrepreneurial spirit enable KDG to attract and retain the best affiliates and partners in the industry. As a leader, Tom believes that KDG’s growth depends on organically growing talent within the company and providing attractive career growth potential for all team members. While studying computer science at George Mason University, Tom began his real estate career in 2001 at Douglas-Michaels Company LLC. In 2003, he became a managing partner at TT&S Financials, LLC, providing strategic leadership and direction to a mid-sized independent and growing mortgage brokerage financial firm providing a variety of financing levels. In 2010, Tom founded Development Group, a real estate development firm focused on the acquisition, rehabilitation, development, investment, and sale or lease of residential and commercial properties in Washington, MD and VA.
Under Tom’s leadership, KDG has grown from a single-family home to a 100-plus unit and mixed-use development firm, managing and operating approximately $327 million in real estate assets in the United States through strategic acquisitions. Today, KDG is growing into a blue-chip development company that manages approximately 500 units regionally and has solid investment management with close to $200 million in assets, including $500 million in operating assets.

Terefe, Development Group’s President and Head of Construction, is a smart mechanical engineer with a passion for advanced construction design. Terefe’s foray into real estate was sparked by several personal remodeling projects he undertook in the years before Tom joined KDG. With his experience in business management, Terefe’s ability to identify and acquire value-added development properties makes Terefe a valuable member of KDG’s Executive Team. After the acquisition, Terefe’s strength in developing creative strategies will ensure a high level of return on investment, which will guide the development or redevelopment of the architectural projects of the facilities.
As President and Head of Construction, Terefe oversees and leads KDG’s construction projects from concept to completion. He has comprehensive knowledge of project review, results planning and cost estimation. It also monitors all construction to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations. By leading a collaboration of property management staff, general contractors, architects and engineers, Terefe’s oversight and leadership ensures KDG delivers new construction, development and historic flex development projects on time and on budget. Terefe’s leadership on and off the field allows him to effectively manage multiple projects, contractors and personnel. He is known and respected for his ability to construct and document projects in accordance with contract documents and good engineering practices.
Mike Ibrahim, Senior Construction Manager of the Development Group, has the experience and expertise to manage the development and construction of KDG projects, as well as co-develop and co-develop real estate opportunities.
Mike’s experience covers various aspects of the real estate industry, including land acquisition, rezoning, all relationships with local jurisdictions, architects, engineers, sales and marketing agencies, development budgets and project financial viability, development program and design development. , risk management, contracting with contractors, construction management and delivery of the completed project to KDG’s end users. Mike has managed over $3,000 million in real estate development in various metro Washington, DC jurisdictions.
Trading Strategy And Execution With Anthony Drager
Mike Ibrahim has years of experience with extensive experience in construction, real estate development, business development and startup companies. Mike’s proven experience managing construction projects such as multi-family, industrial, commercial and hotels has provided him with the skills and resources necessary to succeed in real estate development. Mike graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a BS in Civil Engineering.
Mario has 18 years of experience in accounting. He has held senior accounting positions including controller and C.F.O. in companies ranging from start-ups to mid-sized companies with revenues of 10 crores.
He conducts various financial analyzes to measure the company’s current and projected financial position and present possible scenarios to the Executive Team. He oversees all of the company’s accounting functions and financial reporting requirements, including budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow management, payroll, general ledger and auditing. Mario graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2000 with a BA in Accounting and holds numerous other certifications and skills, including a Certificate in Innovation Management.
