Jili Property Management – Construction is progressing on 685 Fifth Avenue, a 100,000-square-foot office-to-condominium conversion in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Marin Architects and developed by SHVO in partnership with BLG Holdings and Deutsche Financial, the project includes the addition of ten floors above the existing 20-story building, bringing its total height to 350 feet. The $135 million project will result in 69 residences designed by March & White and managed by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, as well as Fifth Avenue retail space to be marketed by Brookfield Properties. The property is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 53rd Street.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) supported previous approvals for the expansion and renovation of two adjacent carriage homes at 410-412 Waverly Street in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by David Adjaye’s own design studio, the proposals will combine adjacent properties into a large single-family home and extend the structure to three floors above ground.

Yesterday, the New York State Division I Appeals Circuit ruled unanimously in favor of 200 Amsterdam Avenue developers, SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan America, building the Upper West Side’s tallest skyscraper. A Division I ruling confirmed building permits for the Elkus Manfredi Architects-designed structure, which is 668 feet tall. It also counts as a win for New York City, while overturning a lower court ruling in February 2020 that sought retroactive application of a zoning interpretation bill calling for a reduction in the height of the 52-story tower.
