HPK is concerned about filling your vacancies as quickly as possible to prevent loss of rent but is still concerned and dedicated to providing you with qualified residents. We do a thorough screening with references, previous landlords, and employment. Each adult prospective resident must fill out a detailed application and provide documentation verifying employment, income, social security number, etc. A credit check is run on every adult applicant with strict requirements.
HPK collects monthly rent and gives 3-day notice as required. Tenant rents are deposited into a client trust account, which is governed by (and in compliance with) Department of Real Estate rules and regulations. HPK has the ability to pay all of your property’s expenses, including, but not limited to, your monthly mortgage, landscaping, utilities, insurance, property taxes, etc. Clients are provided with a monthly (including year-to-date) statement, detailing all income and expenses for your property and an owner’s distribution (as appropriate). HPK uses a popular property management software program, which provides accurate, detailed information to HPK (and their clients). Monthly statements also include copies of HPK invoices for maintenance.
HPK realizes that preventive maintenance is important for every property. All properties are regularly inspected to ensure properties comply with safety, health and city codes.
HPK has a fully licensed and bonded maintenance staff who are experienced, reliable, and available 24 hours a day for routine and emergency calls, seven days a week.

The 4th Annual Blazing Paddles Paddlefest is a kayak, paddleboard and canoe fun celebration of Cleveland’s hardworking, scenic and historic Cuyahoga River. In partnership with the Cuyahoga River Safety Task Force and industry stakeholders, paddlers will enjoy exclusive access to the Cuyahoga River for five hours to enjoy an 8.6-mile recreational paddle/float or one of three races (3.2, 6.8 and 14.4-miles). . Please note that there is no on-site parking for paddlers at Rivergate Park/Cleveland Metroparks’ Merwin’s Wharf and the Cleveland Rowing Foundation, so please plan accordingly. We will be sensitive to accessibility needs and will provide limited parking at the Cleveland Rowing Foundation for our paddlers who require that accommodation. Volunteers with a Blazing Paddles parking pass and pre-paddle and post-paddle expo participants will be allowed to park at the Cleveland Rowing Foundation.

The Dave Wasserheli Memorial is a 9.8 mile (uphill) paddle up and down the historic Cuyahoga River as you pass under and past a wonderful variety of bridges, greenspaces and industrial sites. We have partnered with several local liveries to provide you with the ability to rent a single or tandem kayak through the Blazing Paddles registration process on the race roster! The 3.2-mile Carl Stokes Memorial Course will take paddlers past the downtown Cleveland skyline and near the turnaround on the old Eagle Avenue Lift Bridge, you’ll pass under a rainbow of water, pumped from the same boat, Anthony. The Ruth Patrick Memorial Course, a 6.8-mile course with sweeping views of downtown Cleveland, takes you under 10 bridges spanning the river before you reach the race’s iconic turning point – the 1952 Cuyahoga. This is where you reach Blazing Paddles’ other iconic turnaround point – the site of the June 22, 1969 fire that gave birth to the EPA, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act.

Registration Note: We strongly recommend that you register now for Blazing Paddles to facilitate the check-in flow on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. We will not be offering same day registration so we can streamline the check-in process to ensure we properly meet the needs of our registered paddlers.
Our famous photo awards will be given to the top three finishers in each race category per the Waterman Series guidelines. Each podium finisher will also receive a trucker cap or ultralight Boonie hat.
Blazing Paddles relies on an amazing team of individual volunteers on Fridays and Saturdays to help provide an enjoyable experience for our paddlers. If you are not paddling with us, please consider volunteering, as an individual or corporate group! It’s rewarding, lots of fun, you’ll get a Blazing Paddles Paddlefest t-shirt, and we’ll feed you!
