Hmc Property Management – HMC and its subsidiaries own, develop and manage multifamily, office, industrial, retail and hotel properties throughout the Southeastern and Southwestern United States. HMC has a history of identifying real estate investment opportunities through its network of long-term, strategic relationships.
Our approach is hands-on, targeting properties that we believe are undervalued and where value can be created through focused operational and financial management. We look for smaller, more entrepreneurial transactions, typically between $20 million and $80 million, that are too large for individual investors but too small for larger funds.
Hmc Property Management
Mr. Momsen joined HMC in 2008 as managing director for the opening of the San Francisco, California office. Mr. Momsen has been the fund manager for HMC’s US real estate strategy since Fund IV, responsible for directing all aspects of the fund’s activities. Prior to joining HMC, he worked at Deutsche Bank, where he was a director and head of the West Coast for the RREEF Real Estate Opportunity Fund Group. Prior to that, Mr. Momsen was with Deutsche Bank as a Vice President in the Real Estate Private Equity Group in New York. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Momsen was at Bankers Trust Company in the Investment Real Estate Group.

Mr. Momsen graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business and a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Momsen also graduated from Beta Gamma Sigma with a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Business School.
Mr. Jordan joined HMC in 2003 as an Associate rising to Chief Investment Officer in 2007 and Managing Director in 2012 in the Birmingham, Alabama office. Mr. Jordan manages HMC’s US real estate acquisitions for the US Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and is a member of HMC’s US Real Estate Investment Committee. He directed the transaction management, underwriting analysis and due diligence of over 6.1 million square feet of office space, 4,900 multifamily units, 2.5 million square feet of industrial real estate and 1.2 million square feet of retail space for HMC’s real estate strategies in to the USA. These transactions represent over $1.4 billion in value. Prior to joining HMC, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, advising real estate clients ranging from public REITs to private equity funds.
Mr. Jordan is a certified public accountant. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and Beta Gamma Sigma, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in tax accounting from the University of Alabama. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia.
Mr. Krug joined HMC in 2015 as a Managing Director in the Dallas, Texas office. Mr. Krug is responsible for HMC’s US real estate investment activities in the US Central region. Prior to joining HMC, he founded Krug Interests, LP, a real estate investment advisory firm providing transaction sourcing, analysis and structuring services to private equity and institutional investor clients. Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Krug served as a senior executive at Hayman Woods, a residential investment and development company. Prior to Hayman Woods, Mr. Krug co-founded Scala Real Estate Partners and also served as Vice President of Investments for Hillwood Capital, a Perot company. He has managed the acquisition, development or management of over 5,900 residential units, 1,000,000 square feet of retail and office space, 900,000 square feet of industrial, 500,000 square feet of mixed-use, 1,300 acres of commercial land and 8,300 residential lots in 12 urban developments.

Mr. Krug holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Texas and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Brigham joined HMC in 2010 as an Analyst advancing to Director in HMC’s San Francisco, California office. He is responsible for HMC’s US real estate acquisitions in the American West region. He joined HMC to assist with acquisitions, dispositions and asset management in the Southeast and Central US regions.
Mr. Brigham holds a bachelor of arts degree from Duke University and a master’s degree in management studies from the Fuqua School of Business.
Mr. Tewksbury joined HMC in 2015 as Director of Asset Management in the San Francisco, California office. He is responsible for HMC’s US real estate assets in the US West region. Focuses on the implementation of asset-specific business plans, financing, disposition and asset performance monitoring of real estate investment strategies. Mr. Tewksbury currently manages and oversees a real estate portfolio of office, multifamily and R&D properties. Before joining HMC, Mr. Tewksbury has held various positions at SKS Partners, a San Francisco developer and operator. In his most recent role as director, he was in charge of the negotiations and capitalization structure of individual projects, both equity and debt. Mr. Tewksbury has continuously managed equity and debt relationships through capital calls, credit pulls, asset management updates and general reporting requirements. In addition, he oversaw acquisitions and dispositions totaling over $1.1 billion and the analysis of over 200+ potential projects.

Mr. Tewksbury holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Haas School at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a licensed real estate broker in California.
Mr. Shopay joined HMC in 2018 as Director of Asset Management in the Dallas, Texas office. He is responsible for HMC’s US real estate assets in the Central America region. His focus is on the implementation of asset-specific business plans, financing, disposition and asset performance monitoring for a portfolio of office, multifamily, retail and mixed-use assets. In addition, Mr. Shopay oversees numerous joint venture projects and works with partners on behalf of the firm. Before joining HMC, Mr. Shopay worked for Transwestern Investment Group serving as director of West Coast asset management on behalf of various client initiatives. The portfolio consisted of 4.3 million square feet of office, industrial and multifamily properties in 10 MSAs. He also worked for Equity Office, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blackstone, overseeing strategy, operations and leasing for a 3.3 million square foot portfolio of office properties in multiple markets across the US. His experience includes more than 10 years in various aspects of commercial real estate including property management, banking and corporate finance.
Mr. Shopay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University in Business Finance/Real Estate. He graduated Beta Gamma Sigma with a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.
Mr. Cohen joined HMC in 2012 as an Asset Manager to Director of Asset Management in the Birmingham, Alabama office. He is responsible for HMC’s US real estate investments in the US East region. Focuses on executing property-specific business plans, financing, disposition and monitoring property performance for a portfolio of office, multifamily and retail assets. Mr. Cohen currently has or has overseen the execution of the business plan for more than 3.7 million square feet of office space, 2,700 multifamily units and 760,000 square feet of retail space for HMC’s US real estate strategies. Prior to joining HMC, Mr. Cohen worked for Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and was responsible for all phases of loan production, including underwriting and packaging new loans, as well as following approved loans through the closing process.

Mr. Cohen is a chartered CFA and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Alabama.
Mr. Pearce joined HMC in 2016 as an Associate Director in the Dallas, Texas office. Mr. Pearce focuses on HMC’s US real estate acquisitions, financings and dispositions for the US Midwest region. Prior to joining HMC, Mr. Pearce worked as a senior financial analyst for CBRE’s debt and structured finance division. While at CBRE, he structured a variety of capital arrangements, including permanent debt, bridge debt, subordinated debt, construction finance and co-equity for all major asset types. Mr. Pearce has participated in the closing and placement of more than $1.3 billion in loans.
Mr. Pearce holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Texas and a master’s of business administration in real estate and finance from Southern Methodist University. In addition, he is a member of TREC’s Associate Leadership Council.
Mr. Armstrong joined HMC in 2016 as an Associate to Director in the Birmingham, Alabama office. Mr. Armstrong focuses on HMC’s US real estate acquisitions, financings and dispositions for the US Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Prior to joining HMC, Mr. Armstrong served as a multifamily broker for Rock Apartment Advisors where the team closed over $500 million in transactions. Prior to joining Rock Apartment Advisors, he worked as a development analyst at Surgical Care Affiliates. Prior to Surgical Care Affiliates, Mr. Armstrong was a commercial real estate appraiser at Cushman and Wakefield.
