The renovation of the 8th Avenue Reservoir began with the design of Hillside Flats, which sits on the original site of Hillside Park. Located in Nashville’s historic Edgehill neighborhood, the property has fallen into disrepair over the years and is no longer a viable housing solution. Following a two-year planning process and 18 different community meetings with various regional groups (see details section), Reservoir and Hillside Flats came to life. The indisputable goal for these people is to rebuild without gentrification and to provide the residents of Edgehill with a long-term permanent residence. The statue, created by Ferrin IronWorks, LLC, is a reminder of the unity and hard work it took to create a purpose-built, mixed-income community where families can thrive in the lives they choose. live with it.
