This is my second time living in them. It’s always about the police here, I haven’t seen that at all. Yes, like all of you, you hear some noise from time to time. The staff is great, our dishwasher went out in a couple of days, a new one was installed. The maintenance staff is on top of things. The grounds are beautiful, along with the other people who live here. I am a first time dad with a 3 year old, trust me if it is as bad as some of these reviews she would not live here. We love being close to the beach and all the shops. Living here, we are all like one big family.
It’s About Making A Difference
At first glance this place seemed like a nice quiet place to live near my children’s school. Unfortunately, we will probably have to move and break our lease soon. The walls here are so thin that my children and I are kept up every night by the constant noise of the neighbors. I also found drug needles on the property and the police are here too often for comfort. This place is not worth the low price.
Reading these comments I was really confused. This was NOT my experience living in Veterans Park. My girlfriend and I have been living in a small loft style unit for almost a year. It’s the perfect little nook for a working couple who wants a cozy little loft to come home to. The little loft upstairs looks onto the living room below and is actually pretty cool. It’s pretty much ALWAYS quiet and peaceful except for the occasional screech of a car locking up or a kid on a skateboard walking by. Everyone mostly keeps to themselves. The staff in my experience has been nothing but helpful and friendly. I don’t even see the office staff or the maintenance staff unless I go to them. Every time I went to the office to pay my rent or have a problem, they were always smiling and willing to help. Our heat went out right before winter, and literally the very next day we had a brand new AC unit. I don’t know all these crime stories? I’ve seen the police here once since we’ve lived here. With about 10 buildings (just a guess) FULL of different people, that’s not bad. It’s about people’s perception! I mean, come on, this is a quiet, peaceful riverside community. I would recommend living here to anyone looking for a nice, friendly place to live.
At first everything seemed great. Everyone seemed nice and the room was clean but wait a few months of the bill or until your lease is up and then you will find out the truth about how bad and shady the staff are as they try to steal your money and throw you out.
The place is nice and the maintenance man is super sweet. However, the front office is a complete mess. Guadalupe is the hottest, roughest, sharpest lady I’ve ever met. She charged us on the last day because we didn’t hand in our keys to a closed office on Sundays…then she sent water bills every two months instead of every month and made it look like we couldn’t pay our bills on time. Oh yeah, icing on the cake, they were still taking rent from our account when we weren’t even living there anymore. We also tried to get a house and she lied about our rent being late…never been late, it’s on the auto plan…and I had to print proof for that company that I paid every month on time…and when I had proof that they called her and asked for the dates I was late and she quickly changed her mind and said never mind she was never late… SKETCH!!!!!!!! And then we tried to get an apartment…we didn’t get it…the next apartment…I had to bring up the sketches that happened before and told them to tell me if that happened…magically I got the apartment. Anyway…don’t move here unless you want a headache and want to live in a hotel in California. Wait until Guadalupe is gone!!!!!!!!

We have been here for almost 5 months and have no complaints. The staff is friendly and quick to respond. The outdoor areas are well maintained and the pool is very nice. I just want everyone to clean up after their dog. The neighborhood is quiet, but the neighbors are friendly. We are happy here and plan to rebuild it when the time is right.
I’ve been here for five years. I don’t have a problem with the water, I don’t have a problem with the staff, if you were to be rude, I would get back at you right away. I can’t hear the people above me because I’m on the first floor now. I feel there is no problem with the maintenance staff. I call and the work order was done the same day and what needed to be fixed was fixed the same day. Which I only had to have three times out of five years. For a place that was built in 2003 they keep the place looking very good. I wanted to go to the other side of town a few years ago. But why pay more for less older, not so clean, actually the places were a real mess. For the one bedroom that people are complaining about, did you not look at the apartment before you rented it.? No, there is no washer and dryer in there and yes, it is a wall unit for air conditioning. Your fault if you missed it, not the office or management here. I have been very happy for the last five years. maybe some people just need to treat others the way they want to be treated.
The office staff is rude and unprofessional. They lie, and make countless mistakes, as well as lose paperwork. We were sent a fake Duke Energy bill. When I called Duke they said they didn’t have the account number in their database and that we were up to date with each account; she also said she would Duke
