Divaris Property Management – Michael is the President and COO of a group of companies that include Real Estate, Inc. and Property Management Corp. The company currently employs over 175 people and has offices in eight cities in the US East Coast. The company is a full service real estate company with a portfolio of approximately 31.5 million square feet in management and leasing operations. Michael is head of the Office’s Leasing and Investment division and is responsible for the firm’s Property Management Group.
Michael serves as the Vice President of CORE Networks, a national group of over 20 business organizations with affiliates throughout the United States and Canada. This team represents corporate and institutional clients, as well as tenants and buyers in all aspects of leasing, management, development, strategic planning, lease representation, acquisitions, planning and finance; He was the president of the organization from 2008-2011. Additionally, he serves on the Old Dominion Real Estate Board, the Virginia Beach Board of Directors, the Hampton Roads Public Television and Radio Board, and is a former President of the Virginia Stage Company.

After graduating from the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration and Business Finance, Michael joined Anglo American Corporation where he was Vice President of Anglo American Property. He is responsible for managing the organization’s assets in the Cape Province.

Michael and Gerald founded Real Estate in Cape Town, South Africa in 1974 and together have grown the business into one of South Africa’s leading real estate companies with offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria. In 1982, Real Estate opened its first US office in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where Michael moved permanently with his family in 1987. Michael graduated from the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa with in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration and Business Finance .Carol Aubuchon brings to DPMC 34 years of property management experience and is currently the Senior Business Manager with 24 years of business management at DPMC. It currently manages a portfolio of over 619, 000 sf consisting of Class A office buildings in SE Virginia and managed shopping centers and industrial/office buildings. Her duties currently include property inspections, tenant management and building development, landlord & tenant correspondence, tenant relations, obtaining advice and preparing contracts with contractors and monthly owner reports. Other duties include preparing annual budgets and monthly financial reports, approving weekly payments and dealing with tenant delinquencies and collections.
Carol previously worked there from 2004 – 2016 as General Manager at the Interstate Business Center in Norfolk, VA which consisted of 17 office buildings totaling 442, 296 SF and then moved to Town Center Virginia Beach which consisted of 1, 140, 488 sf where she takes care. and office staff and property managers 2. Also, she was a member of the Central Business Association, worked directly with the owner and developer on projects and prepared the annual budget, financial reports of monthly and re-forecasting.
Prior to , Carol worked as a Sales and Office Manager for a residential company in the Peninsula region for over 10 years, where she managed over 100 single family homes, townhomes and detached homes, managing and managing properties. , office and maintenance staff, rental arrangements, property tours. and auditing, accounting 7 work and escrow accounts, payroll and other office duties. He is also the founder and sits on the board of Realty Resources, a national network of real estate agents specializing in retail and sits on the Tidewater Community College Advisory Board for the School of Retail Business. He is on the board of the Hilton Club of New York and a founding director.
The Round Table of Tidewater Business Leaders selected Gerald to be the recipient of the 2003 Business Leader of the Year award, citing his years of extensive service and success throughout the world. He was nominated for the award by the Mayor of Virginia Beach. He was appointed by the governor of Virginia to serve a four-year term on the Virginia Real Estate Board, which oversees the state’s licensed real estate agents and brokers. His term ended in June 2004. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of WHRO Public Radio and Television. He also serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations, including: the Central Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of TowneBank, Virginia Beach, VA. In addition, he is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). On May 9, 2011, Home Business named Gerald as the 23rd Most Influential Person in a list of 75 influential people in Hampton Roads, Virginia, in the first “Power Issue”.

Gerald obtained his Master of Business Science degree in real estate from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 1976. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Business Science degree with honors in accounting in 1971. In 1982, Real Estate opened. His first office in the United States, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is licensed as a real estate agent in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and California.
He was born in a family of merchants. Gerald and Michael naturally gravitated toward dealership representation, with Gerald leading the business division. Today, the Association represents more than 75 retailers in the development of their stores.
