NEW YORK (AP) – Finding a new place can be challenging, and skyrocketing rents have made it especially difficult this year. But there are things you can do to make the process easier.
Whether renting for the first time or the 10th time, here are five things to consider when looking for a new place to call home:

When it comes to visiting an apartment, the more eyes the better, says Tascon. If the landlord or agent is giving you details or you are asking questions, your friend or family member can help look around.
