The Beach City group has unveiled a project to put “green” street amenities in place in each city. On September 7, 2018, Beach Cities Group, with the City of Torrance as lead agency, submitted a grant proposal to the California State Coastal Conservancy (CSCC) and the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission. (SMBRC) for a proposal of 2 000 000 000 dollars. 12 grants (Prop 12 grants) for the project. Later, CSCC and SMBRC awarded a Prop 12 grant to the Beach City Group for a total of $2,000,000. On October 15, 2019, the City Council approved a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign the grant agreement and any renewals. Proposed improvements include infrastructure such as catch basins, bio-filters, planted wetlands, more trees and dry wells to capture, filter and absorb stormwater.

Several regional projects are being considered for each Beach City. Your participation will be greatly appreciated as we seek to develop these projects. Please join this community and let us know what you think!
