Nick was hired in the Valparaiso, Indiana office as a full-time aquatic biologist in early March 2017. He was born in Lansing, Michigan and grew up about 25 minutes southeast of Lansing in the small rural town of Dansville, Michigan. He attended Dansville schools throughout his childhood and graduated from Dansville High School in June 2012.

After high school, Nick decided to major in fisheries and wildlife management at Lake Superior State University, but transferred to Grand Valley State University after one year. He graduated on December 10

, 2016 with a degree in natural resource management. During the summers between college semesters, Nick expanded his education and experience by completing internships with Michigan DEQ, Michigan DNR and PLM Lake & Land Management Corp. Here he acquired skills such as aquatic and terrestrial plant identification, treatment methods, wildlife habitat improvement using heavy equipment, and fish and wildlife survey methods. He also earned his commercial pesticide applicator license while interning with PLM Lake & Land Management.

During college, Nick also worked as an archery technician at Cabela’s, which directly correlates to his favorite hobbies – hunting whitetail deer, wild turkey, and any type of fishing, be it deep-sea fishing for salmon or salmon. or river trout fishing. He also enjoys snowmobiling, camping, boating and many other recreational activities. Melissa Willey was born and raised in Vero Beach, Florida. From a young age, Melissa grew up helping out in the family business at Blue Crystal Ice and Vero Supply. She attended Vero Beach High School from 2005-2009. After graduating high school, she went to Indian River State College where she earned a degree in business administration before deciding to attend the University of North Florida (UNF) where she graduated with a degree in marketing in 2015. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys kayaking, fishing, hiking and camping.

While at UNF, Melissa participated in Women in Business where she was involved in community events and helped raise awareness for organizations as well as attending special guest speaker events. During the spring of 2014, Melissa went on a study abroad trip to Austria and the Czech Republic where she toured the United Nations and was able to visit many local companies and see how those companies do business abroad.

After graduating from UNF in 2015, Melissa worked for Hancock Printing Equipment as an administrative assistant in Lutz, Florida. While there, she processed all shipping and receiving orders, as well as preparing all necessary shipping documentation. She also dealt with taking sales and service orders from their clientele.

In March 2016, Melissa and her husband moved to Indiana and recently purchased a home in Columbus, IN. For the past year, Melissa has been working in Nashville, Indiana at Mulberry Cottage where she worked in sales. He loves working in customer service and being able to get involved in helping customers find what they are looking for and have a great experience at the same time.

Kody Gunter was born in Columbus, Indiana in 1995. Although he lived in Glasgow, Kentucky for a few years, he spent most of his younger years in North Vernon, Indiana, where he graduated from Jennings County High School in 2014. annual certificate in auto collision from South Easter Career Center in Versailles, Indiana. Jon Houser grew up in Huntertown, Indiana. He went to Carroll High School before deciding to attend Purdue University to major in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. In his free time, Jon enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor recreation.

While at Purdue, Jon participated in the American Fisheries Society all four years. He was a member of the Gemini Cooperative Home, where he served as fraternity chairman. Jon also spent time volunteering and working in multiple labs within the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. Jon enjoyed many classes within his major, especially in subjects such as fish ecology, advanced ichthyology, and fish management.

After graduating from Purdue University in 2015, Jon worked as a summer practicum and marine biology practicum assistant at Purdue University. He was also a fisheries technician for the Lake Whitefish Study in Saginaw Bay. He then spent several years working as an interpretive naturalist at the Dunes Learning Center. Most recently, Jon worked in Yellowstone National Park as a fisheries technician on the Lake Trout Invasive Project.

In October 2017, Jon moved to Indiana to find work closer to family. He started working for Aquatic control on March 29, 2018. He works as an aquatic biologist and applicator. Jon wants to use his knowledge and experience to help with aquatic plant management, pond and lake management, fountain and aerator installation, and fish research.

, 1995 in Ravenna, OH. Troy graduated from Valley High School in 2013 with academic honors. After three and a half years, he then graduated from West Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in ecology, evolution and organismal biology in the fall semester of 2016.

While attending West Liberty University, Troy gained research experience in multiple fields of study. Mr. Hubbard has research experience in fisheries management and conservation research. While at West Liberty University, Troy had the privilege of working with Dr. Zachary Loughman on his astacology research team. He gained field experience on this research team while surveying/collecting crayfish, performing on-site genetic sampling, and assessing stream water quality. The team’s efforts were successful and resulted in endangered status and federal protection for two crayfish species in the tri-state area of ​​West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia. Mr. Hubbard was also an assistant intern under Dr. Joe Greathouse, gaining valuable skills in the hell salamander breeding and release program. The work involved  reducing and rearing Hellbender salamanders from eggs/juveniles to mature adults for release. He was also responsible for the Hellbender field survey/sampling. Husbandry duties consisted of measuring, feeding, cleaning and maintaining accurate amounts of antibacterial and antifungal fluids.

Troy’s most recent work was with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife as a Fisheries Technician II. He worked with the Western Kentucky Critical Species Survey to survey and remove Asian carp from Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. His responsibilities in his position included boat maintenance, telemetry monitoring, surgical ultrasound telemetry tag implantation, electrofishing, experimental gill net sampling, fin/otolith aging, fishery/gonadal data, public relations, purchasing. Troy has also worked with the Western Fisheries District to assist with large-scale habitat improvement and sportfishing management projects.
