The front page has become a mockery of itself, so I moved my movie log blog to the front page because the reason it wasn’t on the front page doesn’t really exist anymore because I’m a man god damn it and not a little boy any longer. It’s never been a secret thing, really, but most people never really knew about it. I’ve had this blog (a term which I have had to come to terms with over the years) for three and a half years, and no one really reads it anymore but my girlfriend and Kishi, and with good reason! Only the most dedicated Mike fetishists would care to take the time to sort through my unpolished rambling and banal commentary on modern and classic film. And only those self-same fetishists would bother checking the site month after month, with no posting in sight whatsoever, only to find one crap post after two and a half months of jerking around, hanging out and generally not writing anything at all. There’ve been a lot of ups and downs, and it’s pretty obvious that it’s mostly been downs, but here we are. It’s better than the front page that used to be here, at least.
In terms of posting frequency, that is. I never posted on the old Smallcave page because it was daunting to have to do hours of unpaid work ON TOP OF all the work I had to do in my day-to-day life. Writing a hilarious internet article at three in the morning was fun for like a week, but after that it really was just very hard and I valued sleep more than that. This blog has no posting schedule, no standard of achievement, and no expectations. That’s why I generally chose to post in it over In & Out, which I really liked but I’m just too fucking lazy.
I don’t know why I’m talking about all this, though. It’s just a bunch of etc. etc.
Edit: I also added a period after “The Whatnot” because that makes it totally deep.
